As the old saying goes that the saddest thing
about betrayers is that they never comes from your enemies. They usually come
from friend. So in most cases in life this stanza make it clear that people you
need to really be afraid of in life are your friend especially when it comes to anything with pecuniary benefit. The stanza

not to betray others because in most cases when you betray a friend you will often find that you have
ruined yourself instead of the intended victim. This is in the what happen in
the case of Iwori and Ogbe in this stanza of Odu Ifa Iwori Ogbe.
