IFA HOMAGE AND INVOCATION

Homage and the Invocation can be use in opening
of prayer or any ritual . The Homage and Invocation are way of seeking ancestral
support before we start any ritual . Below is the excerpt of one the short homage
and invocation chant available in African Ifa spirituality.
Idakisi ona ni re ejo leyin
Dia fun Esin
A bu fun Agbo
Nijo ti won se Awo lo
sile Ooni Alanakan -Esuru
Won ji ni kutu- kutu
Won juba yeye
Won o juba baba
Won o juba Oluwo
Won o juba Ojugbona
Etutu won ko gba
Won ni se ni ki won o ma
juba
Iba yeye
Iba baba
Iba Oluwo ‘Iba ojugbona
Iba Adaso mon mu ro
Ayafi ti mob a dase ni etutu ko seni se aigba
Translation:
The hole on the path is
what break the backbone of a snake
This was Ifa’s message for
A horse
The same Ifa’s message
was made for a cow
They are going on Ifa’s
mission to the house of Ooni Alanakan
-Esuru
The wake up in the
morning
They did not pay homage
to yeye
They did not pay homage to
baba
They did not pay homage
to Oluwo
They did not pay homage
to Ojugbona
Their Etutu is not accepted
They were advise to be
paying homage
Homage to yeye
Homage to baba
Homage to Oluwo, homage to ojugbona
Homage to Adaso mamuro
Unless I do it without homage
That is only when my Etutu
will not be accepted
