CONFESSION OF FAITH IN AFRICA IFA SPIRITUALITY BY BABALAWO OBANIFA-Obanifa extreme documentaries
In this current work, Babalawo Obanifa
will document one of the scared scriptural stanzas that can be adopt by any devotees
of Africa Ifa spirituality in their individual capacity, temples, and place of worship
as Confession of faith. They can use it during their daily devotion or weekly
service known as Ose Ifa . The Nomenclature
for confession of faith in Africa Ifa
spirituality is known as Ijewo Otito Igbagbo . It is instructive to note that the author of this work Babalawo
Obanifa is a practicing diviner and
an authoritative leading Ifa and Orisa theologian ( a living established authority in the field of Yoruba
herbal medicine and spirituality) so any knowledge share in the course of
the work remain an authoritative practicing guide for practitioners
of this generation and posterity. When we are talking of confession of faith,
what do we mean? Encyclopaedia
Britannica give a comprehensive concise
definition of it thus: Confession of faith, is a formal
statement of doctrinal belief ordinarily intended for public avowal by an
individual, a group, a congregation, a synod, or a church; confessions are
similar to creeds, although usually more extensive .Creed and confession of
faith are similar.
Creed, also called confession
of faith, is an authoritative formulation of the beliefs of a religious
community (or, by transference, of individuals). The terms “creed” and
“confession of faith” are sometimes used interchangeably, but when
distinguished “creed” refers to a brief affirmation of faith employed in public
worship or initiation
rites, while “confession of faith” is generally used to refer to a
longer, more detailed, and systematic doctrinal declaration. The latter term is
usually restricted to such declarations within the Christian faith and is
especially associated with churches of the Protestant Reformation. Both
creeds and confessions of faith were historically called symbols, and the
teachings they contain are termed articles of faith or, sometimes, dogmas.
Having known from the above
explanation what we mean by confession of faith. I will proceed to the documentation of confession
of faith in Africa Ifa spirituality and when it can be use.
