The babalawo of Odo, the Mortar

Cast Ifa for Odo

When she was in the midst of enemies

She was advised to offer ebo

She complied Before long, not too far

Join us in the midst of victory

23.

Ifa says that a time is coming in your life that people will consider you a wicked person. As a matter of fact, many people will give you both physical and social distance because of their fear that you may harm them. Ifa advises you to offer ebo of victory and accomplishment and at the same time to feed your dead ancestor in order to solicit their support to overcome this problem. On this, Ifa says:

Ako alangba nii sare wara-wara lori apata

Dia fun Baba Oninu-ire

Ti won nfi oro ika bi

Ebo ni won ni ko waa se

O gb ebo, o rubo

Olorun rińu o

 Ile e ri’ka

Eeyan ti nse rere, Olorun mo

Translation

A male lizard is it that runs noisely on top of a rock

Ifa’s message for the Benevolent Man

Who people will be accusing of wickedness

He was advised to offer ebo

He complied

The heavens know our intentions

And the mother earth recognizes the wicked

Those who do good, the heavens know

24.

Ifa says that you are going to succeed together with one other person who may be your sibling, spouse, friend, or associate. Ifa says that life will be agreeable to the two of you and you will both have cause to celebrate. Ifa advises each of you to offer ebo with two pigeons, two ducks, and money. On this, Ifa says:

 Alape lamo

Alamo lape

Emi o lee sipe ale ana fun Oba Alamojo

Dia fun Imole

A bu fun Edan

Awon mejeeji ntorun bo waye

Ebo ni won ki won waa se

Won gbebo, won rubo

Bi won se nke mole

Ni won nke Edan

 Aye ye ‘Mole

  Aye ye Edan

Translation

He who has both the clay pot and the clay

And he who has the clay and the clay pot

I cannot plead for someone who failed to hold the rain the previous night

Ifa’s messages for Imole

 And also for Edan

When both of them were coming from heaven to earth

They were advised to offer ebo

They both complied

As they were paying obeisance to Mole

So also were they paying obeisance to Edan

Life became very agreeable to Mole

And life became very agreeable to Edan

Ifa warns you to offer ebo in order for you and those close to you not to witness or experience the wrath of Obaluaye. This will come in form of pestilence or serious health challenges that may affect several people. Ifa advises you to offer ebo with one mature he-goat and money. You also need to feed Obaluaye with yam pottage and shrimps. On this, Ifa says:

 Sajeje awo erede

Dia fun Oluaye

O ntorun bo waye

Sajeje awo erede

Dia fun gbogbo otookulu

Won ntorun bo waye

Ebo ogun ni won ni ki won waa se

Won koti ogbonyin sebo

Eyin o mo pe Olu-aye la npe Sanponna

Translation

Sajeje is the awo of the main house frontage

He cast Ifa fo Oluaye

When coming from heaven to earth

He was advsied to offer ebo

He complied

The same awo cast Ifa for all other citizens

When coming from heaven to earth

They were advised to offer ebo against upheaval

They refuse to comply

Don’t you know that Oluaye is the name of Sanponna

 25.

Ifa says that you have a striking semblance to one of your parents. The moment that this parent dies, there is the need for you to offer ebo as a matter of urgency in order for you not to lose your life shortly after the parent’s death. Ifa advises you to offer ebo with one mature he-goat and money. On this, Ifa says:

Iwori wotu peerepe

Dia fun Lamolu Omo ajawe ori muti

 Iwori wotu peerepe

Dia fun Lamolu Omo ajawe ori sa moka

Iwori wotu peerepe

Dia fun Lamolu omo ajawe osun muko yangan

Ebo aiku ni won ni ko waa se

O koti ogbonyin sebo

Emi o mo eyi eni se njo’ni

Emi o mo eyi eeyan se njooyan  Ayamofe, ayamofe

Ayamo boya Lamolu deru

Ti nbaku lo o

Translation

Iwori wotu peerepe

He cast Ifa for Lamolu Offspring of he who plucks Ori leaves to drink alcohol

Iwori wotu peerepe

He cast Ifa for Lamolu Offspring of he who plucks Ori leaves to drink guinea-corn beer

 Iwori wotu peerepe

He cast Ifa for Lamolu Offspring of he who pluck Osun leaves to drinks corn porridge

He was advised to offer ebo against untimely death

He refused to comply

I don’t know how one person will resemble another one this much

I can’t understand how one person will have a striking

likeness with another person

 It is of high probability

It is of great tendency that Lamolu has packed all his things

And he is going with death
