In this work Babalawo Obanifa will reveal and document one of the most efficient practical step by step method available in Yoruba spirituality that a practicing Babalawo can use to conduct acceptable ebo(for their prospective client). It is instructive to note that the author of this work Babalawo Obanifa is practicing diviner and  an authoritative leading Ifa and Orisa theologian, so any knowledge reveal and document in this work can be rely upon as an authoritative practical practicing guide by any practicing Ifa devote of this generation and future.  After Ifa consulation have conducted , Ifa ifa prescribe ebo for the client during the reading. After the material for the ebo and money profesionl fess of the Awo have been perfected. The material ,ranginging from Eko(wraps of corn meal. Akara(beans cake) adiye (hen)etc. will bee arrange on ground. The awo will peel the leaves from the eko and pace them inside Tasa(clay pot for making ebo) and put the Akara in it as well. After the eko has been prepare. If the animal to be use is hairy . The animal is use to touch the head and the chest of the client (that is if the client is present)and little hair will be cut from the head part and thrown into the Eko.If the animal is feather animal like hen,pegion,guinea fowls e etc. The animal  will be sued to touch the head and chest of the person three times ,The two feathers longer than the two wings will be removed  and fits into the eko ebo.The Babalawo will sit on the mat with the opon Ifa (Ifa divination tray)in front of him  while the person that the ebo will be  conduct for will sit opposite to him .The material for the ebo and opon ifa will be in the middle of both of them while they sit facing each others. The Awo who want to perform the ebo will pour sufficient Iyerosun(Ifa consultation powder) on the opon Ifa. He will mark  or  imprint three Odu Ifa on the  opon . Firstly he must start imprinting from right side of the Opon Ifa to the left. You will first imprint Odu Ifa Ose Otura, follow by the Odu ifa that appear for the prospective client during the ifa consulation,follow by opposite odu or odu that is contrary to the Odu that appear during the Ifa consultation you imprint Ogbe Iwori the contrary Odu will be Iwori Ogbe. Then the awo must be home ready to chant the following Odu ifa I listed blow off hand during the courcse of the ebo

The prospective client to whom the ebo is to be conducted for if present will bring forth money to the Babalawo , the Babalawo will take the money ,he will take the obi Abata oloju merin (kolanut with four lobes) he will splits it to four . he will use his teeth to cut each lobe of the cola nut to four pieces each. It will be sixteen in total. You will place the chopped cola nut on the money and you will add sixteen cowries to the money and handed it back to the prospective client you want to conduct the ebo for.The prospective clients that need the ebo will take it and hold it with his two hands and pray on it silently or loudly on his/her need or the purpose in which he conduct the ebo.he/she will handed it back to the Babalawo after the prayer. The Awo will put it on opon ifa and chant the following Ifa incantation thus:

The Awo will then proceed to place his left hand on the ebeo and says:

Their Awo in the cisty of Abose
This is Ifa message for them in the city of Abose

You will round the chants off by touching left and right of the ebo and say

Both left and right will never make ebo without been accepted. The Awo will use both hand to carry the ebo and use it to touch the head and the chest of the prospective client that the ebo is been conducted for. If the client is not present physically, he will use both hand to raise it up three times as if the client in question is present. The Awo will then place the ebo at the center middle of the opon ifa nad he will begin by chanting odu Ifa Irete Iwori/Atepa Iwori thus:

When going on Ifa mission to Oke Alo
The roots that try to prevent elephant from ascending Oke Alo
Such root will journey along with elephant
Any human being who want to prevent ebo from be accepeted
Will go along with ebo.
The Awo will then remove the ebo from the middle of the opon Ifa and place it in front of the opon .The ebo will now be in the middle between him and the prospective client he is making the ebo for.
The Awo will be taking the materials of the ebo one after the other and start to use it touch the head of the clients. And pray. When ever each verse of ifa is chants. The Awo will use the money to touch Iyerosun on the opon ifa and use it to touch the head of the client after  each chants. The awo will proceed to chant Odu Ifa Otura ika/Otura tuka thus:

After this the Awo will mention and order ose otura to open door for the odu Ifa that  come out for the client during the consultation which give rise to the ebo. For example if the odu is Ogbe Irete ,the Awo will mention Ogbe Ate and chant some verses in it to pray for the client.
The Awo will then go ahead to invoke Odu Ifa Oworin Sogbe , It is believe that owonrinsogbe is insi invoke during the ebo to remove Esu evil deeds from the ways of the clients in question. When the Awo use his Iroke Ifa divination tapper to tap the opon ifa at this stage . he will say

The Awo will then proceed to invoke odu ifa  Ogunda Osa by chanting it thus:

He will then invoke and chants Odu Ifa Ose Irete to remove the spirits of untimely death on the clients thus:

And yaara(gutter use to prevent enemies from enter the city during war)

Go and repair the destiny of Odi

Translation
Let the Irete meji his sibling follow. The SAwo then begin to chants Odu Ifa irete meji thus:

It is  when initiate are two that it become honesty
It is  when initiate are two that it become truth
This is ifa message for a man that have good fortune
But failded to have good leg that can guide him to achieve it
He was advised to offer ebo

Ifa let have good destiny
Let me also have legs that will guide me correctly to achieve the good fortune

This was ifa message for Orunmila
When he want to go and climbed the Ogege the tree of wealth in Ile ife
He was advised to offer ebo to achieve the goal
He complied
The dog at base of Ogege will not allow anyone to climb it
The horse at base of Ogege will not allow anyone to climb it
The rooster at base of Ogege will not allow anyone to climb it
The giant ram at base of Ogege will not allow anyone to climb it
Here come Ogege the of wealth in Ife
Any one who climb Ogege  have climb the tree of wealth.
 The Awo will use His Iroke ifa to hit the Opon again and invoke Ose Otura and begin to chants it thus

Offspring of one who is fond of rejecting fight

This was Ifa message for Oseeter omo bubu aye
Ose does not eat nor drink
Ose is taking ebo to heaven
We have make the ebo quickly
The ebo must be accepted quickly.

The Awo will then open epo pupa (red palm oil) and pour little on the ebo . he will then say

Dia fun epo
Ti n se omo iya ebo
Epo gori e o di ebo
Guru guru guegue
Translation
Guru guru gue gue
This was ifa’s message for Epo (red palm oil)
Who is sibling of ebo
The pailm has been used to top it
It has now become ebo
Guru guru gue gue.
The Awo will take the snail and use it to touch the head of the clients and break the snail and put it water on the ebo. He will shake this hand and use one of the snail to dust the body of the clients  and say:
Mo sanwo Iku ki iku o mon pami
Mo sanwo arun ki arun o ma semi
Mo sanwo ofo ki ofo o m semi
Mo sanwo egba ji egba o ma semi
Mo sanwo gbogbo ajogun ki ajogun ma se mi
Translation
I have  pay money for death, death should not kill me
I have  pay money for diseases, I should not fall sick
I have  pay money for loss, I should not suffer from loss
I have pay money for all Ajogun(malevolence forces),they should not afflict me.
The Awo will proceed and take water and sprinkle little on the ebo .
The Awo will then chant Odu Ifa ejiogbe to bless it thus:
Alolo omi
Alolo omi
Atiwaye igunnugun
Atirorunrun akala
Ojuro igunungun toki
Dia fun orunmila
Ifa fe lo gbe Omi tutu ni iyawo
Erigi alo ifa o ni fi olomi tutu ya re fin iku pa

This was Ifa message for Orunmila
When he was going to marry cool water as wife
Erigi alo Ifa will not allow death to kill olomi tutu his wife
.
The awo if he take gin , will drink little and chant odu ifa  Otura irete thus:

Dia fun aranisan
Ti yo mu igba oti kan  amulowo
Oti ola ni awo n mu
Translation
Otura can drink
Otura can buy
This was Ifa message for Aranisan
Who will drink one bowl of drink to become wealthy
Tit drink of wealth that Awo is drinking.
At this stage the Awo can use opele divination chain or obi or even cowries to ask through yes orvno question from Ifa if the ebo have been accepted , If ifa say yes. The Awo will aske where the ebo will be accepted .either is  Esu shrine, atana,aworokoto, Orita etc.The Awo will then give a kolanut or cowries to the clients  to pray  again on the purpose of the ebo. The Awo can be singing Iyere ifa )ifa songs) when the clients is praying. Below are extract of Iyere Ifa that can be sing on such occasion

The Awo will take the kola nut or the cowries from the client and fix it on the ebo.
The client will stretch forth his/her  hand while the . the Awo will put little iyerosun from the Opon ifa. The client awo will say to -to ko se
The Awo will then imprint odu Ifa Okaran Osa on the right side of the opon Ifa and Imprint the odu that come out of the ifa consultation for the client that gave rise to ebo . Okanran osa is imprinted thus;

The Awo will use His Iroke Ifa to tap the opon ifa and begin g to say

Okaran osa come and accept it quickly

It is okaran osa that put finish touch to ebo

The inner part of the water is not impure

The top of water will not be bushy

When is going to make ifa divination for Orisa’When the life of Orisa was not smoith
Gbirari make ifa for oRisa nad his life become smooth
Orisa then pick the horn of his Ase

Anamu ni toga(what ever chameleon target it color it catches it)
The saliva spat on ground don’t return to the mouth
Whosoever make ebo with dog hands

If he does not invoke gbirari
The ebo will not be accepted

The awo orisa
It gbrirari we will be invoking into ebo
It is who invoke gbirari that his ebo will be effective


 The awo will then carry the ebo on the opon ifa and say:
To ba gori opon ko fin
Translation
If  you touch the divination board it should be accepted.
He will use the ebo touch the hand of the client and say :
To ba gori owo ko da
Translation
If it touch the hand let it be accepted

He will then use the ebo to touch the floor in front of the opon ifa and say :
To ba kanle Orun elebo ni ko ma lo
Translation
If it touch the floor it should be accepted in heaven.
The client if present can then take the ebo to Esu shrine. If he come back . You  can then chant odu  ifa osa odi.
