What actually happened in this verse of iwori meji is the there were two friend named kekere ode and ofinran okoja, they have a proposed plan to poach iwori forest (this is a forest that house wild animals and evil spirits) since it is not safe to go there during the night because of spirits. They planned to go during broad daylight. They first seek spiritual consultation. And they were strongly advised that if they want to go there during the day, they should offer a gigantic sacrifice. Ofinran okoja disregard this instructions. He refuse to offer sacrifice,inspite he went poaching and hunting in Iwori forest during the broad day light. He was attacked by evil spirits and they cover him up with mysterious kijipa cloak. This is what changes it complexion to spotted up till today. Ofinran okoja is known as Ekun (leopard).
