Herbal Cure For Menorrhagia (AWOODA)

In this article babalawo Obanifa will be explaining traditional herbal cure for Menorrhagia(Awooda). Traditionally in Yoruba land we know Menorrhagia as Awooda. Menorrhagia simply mean excessive heavy menstrual flow in woman. Before I explain the herbal cure let quick examine the scientific orthodox explanation of causes and symptoms of Menorrhagia. According to Web med, Menorrhagia is abnormal bleeding from the uterus, it explain further  thus :

Any Heavy or prolonged menstrual periods, or menorrhagia, are the most common type of abnormal bleeding from the uterus. Periods are considered heavy if there is enough blood to soak a pad or tampon every hour for several consecutive hours.

Other symptoms of a heavy period can include:
*.Nighttime bleeding that requires getting up to change pads or tampons
*.Passing large blood clots during menstruation
*.A period that lasts longer than seven days In severe cases, heavy menstruation can  interfere with sleeping  daily activities . blood loss from heavy  periods can  also lead to anemia , causing symptoms such as fatigue and  shortness of breath.

Causes of Menorrhagia

There are many possible causes of heavy menstrual bleeding. They include:

*.Hormonal imbalance, particularly in estrogen nandprogesterone; this is most common in adolescents who recently began their periods and women who are getting close to menopause . Hormonal imbalance may also occur if there is a problem in the function of the ovaries.
*.Fibroidsor noncancerous tumors of the uterus;fibroidstypically occur during childbearing years.
*.Miscarriageorectopic pregnancy-- the implantation of a fertilized egg outside the uterus, such as in the fallopian tube
*.Use ofblood thinners
*.Problems with a non-hormonalintrauterine
 device(IUD)used forbirth control
*.Adenomyosis, a condition in which the glands from the lining of the uterus become imbedded in the muscular wall of the uterus; this is most likely to occur in middle-aged women who have had several children
.*.Pelvic inflammatory disease(PID), an infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and other organs of the reproductive system
*.Uterine, ovarian, andcervical cancer; these are rare but possible causes of heavy menstrual bleeding.

TRADITIONAL HERBAL  CURE FOR MENORRHAGIA:BY BABALAWO OBANIFA
1.Epo igi ati ewe egbesi (the leaves and fresh bark of Nauclea latifolia) grind the two together into a powder, sundry. Uses :the woman will be taking it one full spoon with water three times a day. The leaves and barks can also be boil, and the woman will be taking a short of it three times a day.
2.Epo igi akomu (bark of pycnanthus angolensis) epo igi ofe_olofun(Guarea Thompsonssoni) epo igi saworo (Bosquieia angolensis bark) Eeru (fruit of xylopia ethiopica) kahun (Trona) iko odidere kan (one tail feather of a parrot) omi ogi tabi omi ekan (water obtain from a fermented grinded corn. Put everything in a pot. Boil it with the fermented corn water. The woman will drinking th decotion a full glass three times per day the menstrual overflow or bleeding from the Virginia will stop.
3.Ewe Dasa (leave of Diodia Scandens) ose dudu (local black soap) the two will be pound together. Uses:the woman will be using it to wash her private part (vigina)
4.if a woman experience Menorrhagia, especially if it has spiritual coloration. Irepe Eni ore (cut into pieces an old local mat Cyprus articutatus), Odidi atare kan (one fruit of Alligator pepper know as Aframum melegueta). Burn it together and grind it into fine powder. Uses :the woman will be taking it with cold water.
5.ewe dasa(leaves of Diodia Scandens) with one full fruit of Alligator pepper know as Aframum melegueta). Burn it together. Uses the woman will be using it to take palp.
6.Ekolo lope (some clean earth worms) Odidi atare kan (a whole Alligator pepper known as Aframum melegueta). Burn the two together and grind into fine powder. Uses:a pinch of it should be swallow daily till the blood stop.
